L. O’Neal is an artist, curator, arts administrator, and educator. She is the director and curator of the Lamont Gallery at Phillips Exeter Academy, and serves on the faculty of the Boston University Graduate Program in Arts Administration. O’Neal is pursuing doctoral research at the University of the Arts Helsinki where she is focusing on the intersection of choreography and visual arts, fatigue aesthetics, and visuality. O’Neal has exhibited and screened her work at the Portland Museum of Art, the Housatonic Museum of Art, Purdue University, and the Theater Academy of Finland. She has been a recipient of grants and residencies from the Nelimarkka Museum, Artscape Gibraltar Point, and the Somerville Arts Council. She has presented at conferences including the European Artistic Research Network (EARN) Conference, the College Art Association Conference, the Annual Women & Society Conference, and the Nordic Forum for Dance Research. Previously, O’Neal taught at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, Massachusetts College of Art + Design, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and the Art Institute of Boston, among others. O’Neal received her MFA from Maine College of Art and an Ed.M. from Harvard University.
